To the End of the Earth: Ice Caps & the Hidden Glaciers of Patagonia

Building on their Antarctic experience, Gareth and Richard will traverse the Northern Patagonian Ice Cap unsupported and descend the Río Huemules by packraft.

Expedition Objectives:

The Southern Alps have been a second home to Argon’s team. This journey connects the familiar peaks of New Zealand with the remote glaciers of Patagonia, testing equipment and spirit alike.

The Short Film: “Argon”

Follow Gareth and Richard as they traverse the volatile, rugged wilderness — training for Patagonia, documenting the fragility of our glaciers, and collecting ice samples for the Global Atmospheric Plastics Survey.

Film Objectives:

  • Real-world expedition training
  • A standalone short film for Arc’Teryx and Argon audiences
  • A teaser for the Patagonia documentary
  • To capture how family, adventure, and the wilderness come together to inspire the next generation. Through shared expeditions, we teach respect for nature, safe decision-making, and a lifelong love of exploration.

Documentary Team

We’ve partnered with an experienced and award-winning creative team:

Luke Kneller (Director/Producer) and Lucas Vazquez (Producer/Editor) – creators of Corners of the Earth, a feature doc filmed in Kamchatka, Russia.

Hayden Griffith – Adventure and natural history Director of Photography with credits for National Geographic, BBC, Netflix, and Google.

Tim Clark – Renowned travel photographer and filmmaker, capturing social and visual content in both video and stills.

This agile four-person crew brings a broad range of production expertise, making them ideal for this remote, high-impact project.
